Growing up... :(

Callee is growing up too fast! We are trying to potty train, and today at nap time, I took the pacie away! The potty training is going o.k., just slow. She has done it a few times. The pacie thing, well, we'll see. She didn't mind me taking it today. Who knows about tonight! I told her the Sassie (that's what she calls it) Fairy came to get it and take it to a baby that needs it. And, since she isn't a baby, she's a big girl, she doesn't need it anymore. I told her big girls only sleep with their lamb. (her blanket she sleeps with) She kept saying, "I a big girl". I hope this is close to being as easy as taking away the bottle. If anyone has any advice on either milestone, I would greatly appreciate it!!

I am not much help in either milestone. Reed was a rock star at first with potty training! He did great for a few months, until he started going at the babysitter's house. Ever since them, he only goes potty before bed here.

As for pacifiers, we still have ours...We haven't even attemped to take it away. He loves it, and I'm scared our easy bedtime routine will be ruined! We are about to make that jump...

My potty advice is READINESS. If she isn't ready, it isn't worth your time and upset.

No advice for potty training here since I have a 9 month old. I took Hayden's pacie away from him when he was pretty young, because he was waking through the night wanting me to come give it to him every 30 minutes. However, I did do a pretty clever thing with the pacie. I let him have his pacie, but I cut a hole in the end of it. It makes it lose suction, and they lose interest in it. It worked with him, and I've heard other people say it worked for their children who were much older than him.

If she is not read for potty training, it will not go well. Collins can tell me when he needs to potty but he is scared to death of the potty. I am just going to keep trying and taking him to the potty everyday. He has only tee teed a few times in the potty.

Carson still has his pacie...
He is 30 months old!
He goes all day without it at school, but when we get home he wants it! We have a blankie too!
We started to potty training back in January when he was like 26 months old. It has been 5 months now and Carson is just getting to where he can tell me when he needs to go and he still has some accidents! So it takes a while.

Oh Marylee!! We haven't taken the "Maggie" away 100% yet. Foster still has to have her at naptime and bedtime but other than those two times, Maggie is hidden away! The potty trianing issue has been a hard one for us. We think we should start but she shows no interest whatsoever. Our peditrician told us that girls are usually ready after two years of age. I have also been told that once they can draw circles on paper instead of lines, then they are ready. who knows- I think it depends on the child. Glad you have been brave enough to tackle it!

Happy Mother's Day!!
